Newcastle striker Joelinton insists he is ready to give his all at the club despite his new role in midfield, with the

25-year-old being brought in by manager Eddie Howe as a central midfielder. And did a great game in which their team just opened home draw with “Red Devils” to a disappointing 1-1.

Sean Longstaff says the abuse Joelinton receives is a ‘disgrace’ and insists his Newcastle team-mates ‘rate’ the forward very highly.

Manager Eddie Howe also praised Joelinton for his performance, while Jamie Carragher said the 25-year-old was the best player on the pitch.

“It’s a new position for me. I try to give my best for the team to get the three points,” Joelinton said after the game.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t win but we should be proud of this game and we are fighting all the time. It was a difficult game but we have to be optimistic.

“I understand what the manager asked me to do on the pitch. And try to do everything for the team.”

“Sometimes things just don’t happen. But today I try to work hard and hope to continue it. So we can win and change the situation now.”
